This addon will show related contents on threads, based on Xenforo 1.5 Tags. Multiple Content Types supported.

Here is a remake of the fairly popular Blackend style I had released for another forum software. The link and text colors can be changed easily through the Color Palette. Updating should be easy as almost all template edits are in the EXTRA.css template.

Description:

This addon allows to change the look of the nodes list in the index page.

You'll be able to show nodes side by side.

Once installed, you will have a new setting in the node edit page.

This option will let you choose if to show the node as a column or not. This allows you to show only specific nodes side by side, unlike other solutions that puts all the nodes side by side.

Even nested columns are possible, so for example, you can have two categories side by side - and their inner forums side by side as well.

Notes:

The grid is designed to two columns only. More columns will require very wide screen resolution, and considering the need to support the responsive design and narrow screens, I decided it won't be smart to show more than two columns.

The setting of the grid is available only in the default node types.

It is possible to use it also in custom node types, but some code will need to be added to the addon which the node type is belongs to.

DESCRIPTION

The Amazon/Ebay Parser Addon will change URL's directing users to Amazon or eBay to include an administrator's Amazon affiliate ID and eBay campaign ID, respectively. It will attempt to remove any existing affiliate tags, and will only change the URL of the anchor tag, it will not change the anchor tag's text that appears on the page.

Multiple Amazon and eBay affiliate country programs are supported. Make sure to enter the appropriate affiliate id(s) in the correct program(s) you've joined in the options.

This add-on doesn't add any queries, doesn't create a new bbcode, and doesn't change the database contents of posts, signatures, or conversations. It only changes links displayed/rendered on the page. It will also work with the XenForo Link Proxy feature.

There is no branding, and no call-back/call-home code. As such, there are no guarantees in the usefulness of this addon.

USAGE

1) Upload the "library" folder to your xenforo root folder on your server.

2) Install the add-on with the included addon-SolidMean_AmazonParser.xml file via the XenForo admin interface.

3) Visit the options and look for the "Amazon/Ebay Parser" option, and click on it.

4) Enter your Amazon Affiliate ID's and eBay Campaign ID's in the appropriate text boxes provided. Leaving the boxes blank essentially disables the add-on.

PERFORMANCE & MEMORY

Performance isn't terribly affected, I did some non technical timings of parsing an extreme number of links:

Stock Xenforo 1.4.1 install, debug on, link proxy on, no other addons, and 1000 Amazon links in a message.

With Add-on:Timing: 4.7224 seconds Memory: 9.915 MB DB Queries: 10

Without Add-on: Timing: 4.0406 seconds Memory: 9.748 MB DB Queries: 10

This add-on uses theSimpleXML PHP function, which requires the libxml PHP extension, but it is enabled by default, so there shouldn't be many installations missing this.

Today, we are releasing XenForo 1.4.8. This release addresses two potential security vulnerabilities and fixes a number of bugs found since the release of 1.4.7. We recommend that all customers running XenForo 1.4 upgrade to 1.4.8 or use the attached patch file as soon as possible.

The two security issues are XSS vulnerabilities. XSS (Cross Site Scripting) issues allow scripts and malicious HTML to be injected into the page, potentially allowing data theft or unauthenticated access.

In the notices system, the name token was not escaped as expected. This could allow specially crafted requests to trigger an XSS for guests (or for a registered user to trigger an XSS on themselves).

In the filter list system in the admin control panel, dynamic highlighting when filtering did not escape output properly, potentially triggering an XSS against the user viewing the page.

Thanks to Diego Palacios for reporting these two issues.

In addition, some of the bugs fixed in 1.4.8 include:

Improved performance in the rich text editor.

Fixed trophies not being awarded at session creation as expected.

Fix certain cases where the image proxy would unexpectedly fail to detect a valid image.

Support downloading attachments with UTF-8 file names in IE.

Ensure a more correct following count is shown when viewing a member's profile in some cases.

Throw an error when sending a warning and only one of the conversation title or message box has been completed.

Fix an issue where the vBulletin importer could infinitely loop.

XenForo Resource Manager and Media Gallery with 1.5

The XenForo Resource Manager 1.2.0 and XenForo Media Gallery 1.1.0 have been released to add support for the new XenForo 1.5 features. If you are running either of these add-ons, we recommend you upgrade them after upgrading to 1.5. However, previous releases of these add-ons should remain compatible with XenForo 1.5.

XenForo Enhanced Search 1.1.2 is compatible with XenForo 1.5.

Installation and Upgrade Instructions

Full details for how to install and upgrade XenForo can be found in the XenForo Manual.

Add-ons and styles may be broken after upgrading to 1.5 (from 1.4 or earlier). You must test your add-ons thoroughly or look for updates. Be especially careful with add-ons that cover similar features to ones that are added to 1.5; these may conflict with the core XenForo data. If data conflicts are found, they will need to be resolved in a new add-on release or by removing the add-on before upgrading to 1.5.

We highly recommend that you backup your data (database and files) before you upgrade to 1.5, particularly if you are running third-party add-ons. You may wish to also upgrade your test installation before updating production to make sure you are prepared.
